Your Words Mean Something

I was having a bad day — not the worst one ever but a bad day nonetheless.

I’d been cut deep, I was feeling dejected, questioning my choices, abilities and just about everything else in between.

You know those days. When with one little incident you’re left wanting to quit, not go after your dreams, go back to a normal life — whatever that is — because you’re clearly not cut out to go about things this way.

But then I received a message from a dear friend;

Thinking of you

Sending love

You’re a great person

A brave person

A beautiful soul

An intelligent mind

Adventurous spirit

You’re loved and protected

They had no idea I was having a bad day and that I was desperately trying to hold my head above water.

They had no clue those were exactly the words I needed to hear.

But they thought it, wrote it down and hit send anyway.

We can never know all the things eating at our nearest and dearest. We’ll never really know the hurt they might feel. Often they’ll do their very…
